In this day and age, every small business and non-profit needs a good website. But what pages should really be on that website? In this post, we will cover the essential pages that every small business’s website should have. We will also cover what those pages are, and what they are used for.
The Homepage
This is the main landing page of your business’s website. Here, you should include your business’s mission statement and/or slogan, as well as an overview of what your business does. Separate sections can be used for other purposes, like a call to action.
Products Or Services
The next page every business should have is a products or services page. This page will help break down exactly what your business offers.
About Us
This page is pretty self-explanatory. By including an about us section of your website, you can build trust by sharing you or your business’s story, and the people that make that story happen.
Contact Page
This page will make it easy for potential customers to reach out. It should include a phone number, an email address, and an inquiry form. The latter can be made using HubSpot, MailerLite, or other similar tools (see our post on how to choose the right CRM for your business).
Testimonials and Reviews
This page will provide real-world customer feedback to customers that are still not convinced. These reviews can be sourced from Google, Yelp, or other sources such as emails. Remember: the golden rule for leaving reviews is that if you have nothing positive to say, you’re better off not saying anything at all.
Privacy Policy & Terms Of Service
This page is critical for legal compliance and data security. It provides ground rules for how to use your website, and what will happen if someone were to break those rules (spoiler alert: they would probably end up in jail). A quick Google search will guide you to free-to-use tools to help make the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for your website.
Optional Pages
The FAQ Page
“FAQ” stands for “Frequently Asked Questions”, which are exactly what they sound like. The FAQ page will help answer any common questions that customers may have in regards to your business. Examples include “What does your business do?” and “How do I become a customer?”.
Blog
Your business could also include a blog, as Bronx River Digital does. Use this blog to post about your business’s updates in ways social media could not be capable of.
